Performance desk · Official Quickfix #2–#3
Input and late-game fixes
Quickfix #3 added an FPS limit option and two spoiler-marked later-game support changes. Quickfix #2 separately updated mouse input and fixed a Day 4 order-panel issue.
Use the in-game setting, not a guessed cap
The official Quickfix #3 note confirms that the FPS limit lives in the settings menu. It does not publish the selectable frame-rate values, a best setting, resolution targets, or laptop-specific advice. Choose only from the values your current build displays.
What Quickfix #2 changed
These are official release-fix notes, not a complete device-compatibility list. If the problem remains after updating, report the input device and exact reproduction point through the developer's official Steam Discussions or Discord route.
- Mouse input
- Updated for some Bluetooth and wireless mice whose camera could flick or snap unexpectedly
- Day 4 order panel
- Fixed an issue where it could disappear after a specific point
- What to do first
- Let Steam update Photomaly, then retry the affected action
Later-game fallback changes in Quickfix #3
These spoiler-marked changes are direct developer statements. They reduce two stated friction points, but they do not validate an unstated puzzle solution or hardware workaround. Use the current in-game prompt if it differs from this summary.
- Backrooms mannequin
- Longer stun duration; it moves more slowly after three catches
- Voice-input sequence
- On the second no-detection attempt, a button option becomes available after five seconds
- What is not published
- Route, enemy timing values, voice-detection setup guidance, or a full alternative-input walkthrough
What Quickfix #3 does not prove
- A universal performance improvement
- A recommended FPS cap for a particular GPU or laptop
- Steam Deck, ultrawide or controller compatibility
- A replacement for the published minimum and recommended PC requirements
Short, sourced answers
Where is the Photomaly FPS limit?
Quickfix #3 says an FPS limit option was added to the settings menu. The official note does not list the available cap values or a recommended value.
Why did Photomaly add an FPS limit?
The developer says an uncapped frame rate could use unnecessary GPU resources on powerful systems. The new setting lets players set a limit; it is not an official benchmark or a guarantee for every PC.
Can Quickfix #2 help a wireless mouse camera flick?
Quickfix #2 updated mouse input for an issue affecting some Bluetooth and wireless mice where the camera could suddenly flick or snap in a random direction. Update Photomaly before retrying.
Did a patch fix the missing Day 4 order panel?
Yes. Quickfix #2 says it fixed an issue where the order panel could disappear after reaching a specific point on Day 4. The official note does not identify that point.
Did Photomaly make the Backrooms mannequin sequence easier?
Quickfix #3 increases the mannequin's stun duration. The developer also says it moves more slowly after it catches the player three times. The note does not publish a route, timing values, or a strategy.
What if Photomaly does not detect voice input?
Quickfix #3 leaves the first attempt unchanged. If the second attempt has no detected voice input, a button option appears after five seconds, so the player no longer needs to fail twice to access the alternative method.
